Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah an Enduring Model of Leadership and Resistance

The president of Razavi University of Islamic Sciences has described martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah as a lasting model of religious leadership, revolutionary rationality, and steadfast resistance against global arrogance, stressing that his path represents the honor of the Islamic Ummah and unwavering support for the oppressed.

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Mohsen Jahangiri made the remarks on Wednesday at the closing ceremony of the first International Scientific Conference titled “Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah: The Secret of Resistance and the Genius of Leadership,” hosted by Razavi University of Islamic Sciences. The event was attended by seminary and university professors, researchers, students, and a large number of figures and supporters from the resistance front.

Addressing the gathering, Jahangiri highlighted the crucial role of religious scholars in safeguarding faith and society, alongside the strategic importance of the resistance movement in advancing what he described as divine and moral objectives. He noted that martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah stands among the most prominent and influential figures in the contemporary history of resistance movements.

Chairman of the Scientific Council of the national conference, Jahangiri referred to a narration from Imam Hadi (PBUH), cited by the late Tabarsi, to underline the responsibility of scholars during the era of occultation. He said that without the presence of committed scholars to protect society from intellectual deviation, disbelief, and enemy conspiracies, the religious community would face serious erosion of belief and identity.

He emphasized that scholars, through righteous conduct, divine ethics, and discourse rooted in the teachings of revelation and the school of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), unite people’s hearts around the religion of God and prevent hostile forces from diverting society away from the divine path.

Hojatoleslam Jahangiri described the resistance movement as one of the clearest manifestations of such divine guidance, stating that resistance is a faith-based movement grounded in religious rationality and adherence to guardianship, in which scholars play a decisive role in articulation, clarification, and consolidation.

He added that the conference was held to honor the leader of the resistance and to convey a clear message to global public opinion: that the correct path for nations is not compromise with arrogance or submission to the dictates of domineering powers.

Warning against complacency and attachment to worldly desires, Jahangiri said accepting the logic of arrogance represents a deviation from the divine path. “The true path,” he noted, “is to stand firm for the sake of God Almighty, defend the oppressed, restore their rights, and move toward paving the way for the return of the Imam of the Age (PBUH) and the realization of divine justice.”

He further stated that the martyrs of the resistance, particularly martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, embody this path in a tangible and lasting way, leaving behind a model defined by courage, insight, sincerity, and steadfastness for the Islamic nation and freedom-seeking people worldwide.

Referring again to Nasrallah’s personality, the president of Razavi University said the slain leader exemplified faith-based leadership combined with rationality and bravery. “He demonstrated that resistance is not a temporary or factional tactic,” Jahangiri said, “but a deeply rooted religious and human school of thought capable of altering the equations imposed by global powers and keeping hope alive in the hearts of the oppressed.”

He concluded by urging academics, students, and researchers to continue the path of the resistance martyrs through scholarly and cultural efforts, stressing that explaining and developing the intellectual foundations of the school of resistance is an effective way to advance the ideals of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and what he described as the lofty goals of the Islamic Revolution.
